Feeling the change with a medical tattoo.

A confidence boost

Your journey is unique to you. Now, you have the choice of guiding it on your terms. Having a skin or a scar condition either on our face or our body can not only damage how we feel about ourselves, but it can also take away any motivation when it comes to facing the world and getting on with our daily lives.

Nobody should ever have to feel embarrassed to step out of their own house because they’re scared of encountering odd glances or long stares from passerby’s. Unfortunately for people with visual differences, this feels like a part of life they have to get used to. It shouldn’t be.

Whatever medical condition you may have, whether you’ve undergone surgery, or perhaps you have a certain birthmark that is causing you anxiety and concern - choosing to explore medical tattooing means choosing to find the confidence that you may have lost; it can be the decision that changes your life forever and for the better.

This journey isn’t something to be rushed or quickly taken and that’s why here at Perfect Definition, we’re here to talk you through in detail what you need to know and to answer any questions you may have.

Having possibilities such as medical tattooing or permanent make-up can help to demolish the fear that you may have been living with for years and replace it with positivity in all areas of your life. The benefits of medical tattooing are visual as well as psychological.

How does it work?

Medical tattooing is the process of implanting custom colour pigment into the dermal layer of the skin to promote the healed result to achieve an appearance of restored colour/ shape to the affected area. Medical tattooing uses specialised pigments to give the appearance that is closest to your original or natural skin tone. It can treat the following conditions:

Scarring, cleft lip, lack of pigment in the skin, lack of hair on the scalp, lash and brow line, skin grafts, nipple/areola, webbed toes and fingers separator, belly button restoration, alopecia, trichotillomania, post-mastectomy, vitiligo and burns.

Why is Pigment used?

Pigments these days are medical/pharmaceutical grade: and are used instead of ink. Over time, medical tattooing and semi-permanent makeup fade, varying between one and five years depending on age, medication, skin type, lifestyle, sun exposure, environmental factors, and aftercare. Therefore, colour boosts are recommended.

When it comes to Permanent Makeup also often referred to as Semi-permanent makeup, it can be applied to areas such as eyebrows, eyelids and lips.

Breast Reconstruction

For many breast cancer survivors, being comfortable in your own body after cancer treatment can feel like the ultimate recovery, that’s why medical tattooing can often be the light at the end of an extremely dark and difficult tunnel. Realistic nipple and areola tattooing offers a solution as part of the healing process from the mental suffering cancer patients go through.

Here at Perfect Definition, we’re extremely driven, passionate, and dedicated when it comes to the life-changing work we do; we want to support and elevate our clients. We’re here to give cancer survivors the positivity they deserve and a chance to heal. We provide post-mastectomy and post-breast reconstruction breast cancer survivors with artistic medical tattoos in a compassionate and trusting environment - 3D nipple and areola tattoo reconstruction.

What is a 3D Medical Tattoo?

In order to enhance and mimic the appearance of a nipple, there is an insertion of coloured pigments into the skin. This, alongside the combination of the shading and contouring technique of the areola, creates a realistic and natural view from all angles.

We are here for you

Sadly, and to be honest, very frustratingly a lot of the life-changing work medical tattooists perform doesn’t get the promotion or the awareness it deserves through social media platforms, that’s why here at Perfect Definition we’re even more passionate about wanting to try as hard as we can to let people know that this type of treatment is available.
