WHAT TO EXPECT DURING THE LIP TATTOOING PROCEDURE
Step 1: Consultation: Before undergoing permanent lip tattooing, schedule a consultation El. During this meeting, you can discuss your desired outcome, ask questions, and ensure that you fully understand the procedure. El will assess your natural lip colour, shape, and symmetry. They may also discuss the best pigment shades for your skin tone and preferences.
Step 3: Tattooing Process El will use a specialised tattoo machine or manual tool to deposit pigments into the upper layers of the skin. This process involves creating small incisions or punctures to implant the pigments. The tattooing process is typically done in multiple layers to achieve the desired colour intensity and ensure even coverage. During the procedure, you may experience some discomfort, but the numbing cream applied beforehand helps to minimise pain.
Step 2: Preparation On the day of the procedure, El will clean your lips and apply a topical numbing cream to minimise discomfort during the tattooing process. It's important to discuss any medical conditions, allergies, or medications you are taking to ensure a safe procedure.
Step 4: Aftercare: After the permanent lip tattooing is complete, El will provide you with specific aftercare instructions to promote healing and minimise the risk of complications. It's common to experience some swelling and redness immediately after the procedure, but this usually subsides within a few days. Avoid exposing your lips to direct sunlight, refrain from picking at any scabs that may form, and follow any additional instructions given by El to ensure the best results.
RECOVERY
After the procedure, you may feel a soreness on the lips. You may also experience mild swelling and redness although very unlikely unless your skin is very sensitive. The Permanent Makeup Artist will give you aftercare instructions. Some of the treatments post-care include:

Avoid tanning or contact with direct sunlight for at least 2 weeks

Avoid heavy sweating for at least 9 days, but you can do other forms of exercise.
